Next Major Stage for Claremont on the Park Project

27 Feb 2015

Claremont's highly desirable Claremont on the Park project is hitting the mark in delivering an exciting inner city style urban lifestyle with the next phase of the project set to revitalise and connect the development with the Claremont town centre.

With Stage 3 works set to begin in March 2015, this development is quickly taking shape as it becomes part of the wider Claremont community while taking advantage of the unique opportunities that come from its prime location and relationship with the Claremont Football Club.

LandCorp CEO Frank Marra said Stage 3 was a major next step for the project that fronts the Claremont Football Club oval and would benefit the whole community.
"These works are an essential stage in delivering a mix of commercial, retail, and residential interconnected by high quality areas of public open space that will be the hallmark of Claremont on the Park development," Mr Marra said.
"The new development is located alongside the Claremont Football Club but it will be integrated with the wider community with its fresh new mix of living and business opportunities and revitalised spaces reconnecting the Claremont community currently divided by the railway line.

Mr Marra said that the first and second stages of this exciting project were now complete, and this third stage would assist in the delivery of the Town of Claremont's approved North East Precinct Structure Plan, including the realignment of Shenton Road.
"The changes to Shenton Road will bring people closer to the Claremont town centre and improve traffic and pedestrian flows for residents in the local area. The overall amenity for the Claremont community will be vastly improved as the suburb becomes better connected."

As part of the Stage 3 works, the State Government, through LandCorp has funded Western Power to replace existing and older style overhead power lines with a new underground power service.

Works will be scheduled to ensure minimal disruption to traffic and reduce road closures at peak traffic periods where ever possible.

To assist train commuters during Stage 3, a temporary car park on the corner of Shenton Road and Davies Road will open in late April.
