Perth-based developer Blackburne has been appointed as the preferred proponent to develop the landmark mixed-use corner site at LandCorp's Claremont on the Park development in Claremont.
LandCorp chief operations officer Mr Dean Mudford said the unique development opportunity attracted a number of high quality submissions from local and national developers.
"Blackburne was selected following a two stage assessment process," Mr Mudford said.
"This landmark corner site will play a pivotal role in connecting Claremont on the Park with the existing town centre, so it was important to ensure the appointed developer could meet key design objectives to maximise activation opportunities".
"Blackburne's submission aligned with the development's design guidelines and the overall vision for Claremont on the Park, making it the ideal proponent to purchase and build lot 509", he said.
"Lot 509 will include high quality residential facilities with integrated retail and commercial opportunities on the ground floor, designed to help activate the existing area around the Claremont Oval and support urban regeneration in a desirable established suburb".

Located within Stage 3 of the Claremont on the Park project area, lot 509 is in a highly desirable area fronting Claremont Oval and opposite the Claremont train station at the intersection of Shenton Road and Davies Road.
Development on the mixed-use lot can reach a maximum height of six storeys and is projected to yield 123 apartments and include approximately 1,950sqm of retail and commercial floor space. It has already attracted the interest of an anchor retail tenant and commercial operators.

The development is located within walking distance to the main Claremont shopping precinct and community facilities and will include a network of high quality landscaped walkways to improve connectivity around the site and through to the Claremont Oval.
