Rockingham Industry Zone

Community Information

Rockingham is a strategic regional centre in the south west metropolitan area of Western Australia. One of the fastest growing centres in Australia, it has gained a reputation as an area which provides an attractive residential lifestyle which is accessible and affordable.

In the late 1990s, with a high proportion of the rapidly-increasing community travelling out of the area to work, the focus fell on job creation and local economic development.

As a result, East Rockingham Industrial Park was developed to take full advantage of Rockingham’s booming population. Superbly positioned with exposure to a high passing traffic flow, the area includes prominent occupiers such as Shack’s Holden and Retravision.

Recognising the strategic importance of Rockingham as part of an integrated industry hub stretching southwards from Henderson, in March 2007 East Rockingham Industrial Park was renamed Rockingham Industry Zone and the seven precincts within the zone have been individually identified to showcase their development potential.

Strategic Environmental and Triple Bottom Line Assessments

In 2010 public comment was sought on a comprehensive five year Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) as well as a Triple Bottom Line (TBL) assessment of the Rockingham Industry Zone.
