A comfortable day's drive from Perth, Mount Magnet is an historic gold rush town renowned its wildflower season where blooms of colourful everlastings stretch for miles every July to October.

Surrounding the town are the remains of mine sites, and to the north east significant Aboriginal sites are preserved by the local community and the West Australian Museum.

Mt Magnet now operates as a service town for the surrounding pastoral district which supports large sheep stations.
