Partner announced
The Knutsford Consortium, including the Fini Group, Georgiou Capital and Mainpart Holdings, has been chosen as the preferred partner for the Knutsford project.
Leading the design for the Consortium is highly awarded local Fremantle architect Michael Patroni from Spaceagency, with input from internationally renowned urban design strategist Charles Landry.
The Consortium's submission was particularly strong in relation to design quality, accommodation diversity, affordability and environmental leadership.
Together, we will be focused on making this site an integral part of the Fremantle community through relevant, thoughtful urban design and contemporary architecture. We will work collaboratively to deliver this innovative medium density residential project, which will introduce considerable community amenity to what was once an old industrial precinct.
The Consortium’s proposal features a wide variety of accommodation options, from single residential dwellings, townhouses to grouped dwellings and apartments of varying types and sizes. Importantly, the dwellings are being designed to be both flexible and adaptable to accommodate the changing demographics of our future population, family structures and the ability to support intergenerational living arrangements.
Vision
Our Knutsford project will revitalise a tired industrial area, creating an iconic, cutting edge residential precinct . It will demonstrate leadership and direction through high quality urban, architectural and environmental design.
The redevelopment will reflect the distinct local character and lifestyle of Fremantle, and will integrate with the existing residential neighbourhood. It will feature a mix of densities, housing types and styles, new parks and amenity for the local community.
Bounded by Stevens Reserve and Swanbourne, Amherst and Blinco streets, it is expected that the first stage of the Knutsford project will commence development in early 2012.
Redevelopment of the adjoining Knutsford East precinct is being coordinated by the City of Fremantle. This area will be redeveloped as part of a long term project involving private landowners, the City of Fremantle and LandCorp.
