Kambalda

The small mining town, 60km south of Goldfields capital Kalgoorlie, is one of the region’s major nickel producers, following a brief stint as a gold town at beginning of the Goldrush era in the late 1890s.

The area is well known for its unique historical and tourist attractions, in addition to the usual offerings of a vibrant working town community.

History buffs will find the old Red Hill Gold Mine ghost town and cemetery a reminder of the realities of life during the Goldrush. Sporting enthusiasts will marvel at the magnificent shimmering white salt lake – Lake Lefroy – which offers some of the world’s best land sailing stretches.
