A world-class waterfront development is planned for the City of Bunbury - Western Australia's unofficial capital of its fast-growing South West region.
The transformation of the waterfront to a sought-after coastal destination will give Bunbury an improved public waterfront area, better family beaches, retail and commercial areas, and housing in the form of townhouses and apartments.
Bunbury Waterfront has the potential to attract substantial investment for Bunbury over the next 30 years and generate significant employment during the building phase and in the longer term.

Stage 1 of the Bunbury Waterfront
Last year, in August 2011, the State Government announced approval of a $23.8million funding strategy for Stage 1 of the proposed Bunbury Waterfront development. This stage is referred to as Koombana North (Stage 1A) and Marlston North (Stage 1B).
The decision paved the way for work to progress on the project with the Government endorsing LandCorp’s new Stage 1 concept plan.
The first site to be developed under the proposal will be Koombana North.
Throughout much of 2012, we worked with others including the City and The Department of Planning to prepare the scheme amendment and structure plan documents necessary for the Koombana North development to proceed. These documents were lodged with the City and were subsequently advertised for public comment in November-December 2012. The next steps are for Council to consider the documents for final endorsement, and for final statutory approvals to be obtained.
