Overview

Boasting one of the fastest growing populations in Western Australia and now linked to the new Southern Suburbs Railway, Rockingham is becoming a vibrant, modern city with plenty to offer.

Rockingham Waterfront Village is set to become an icon development for the popular coastal city, providing a new range of tourism, lifestyle, residential, retail and commercial opportunities.

A key Rockingham Kwinana Development Office project - developed as a partnership between LandCorp and the City of Rockingham - it will revitalise Rockingham's traditional beachfront precinct and eventually be home to more than 400 people.

The development will feature upgraded community facilities, centred on a village green and a village square, with a range of residential options, enhanced streetscapes and improved car parking and links with the new rapid transit system.

Provision of new public open spaces and rejuvenation of existing areas are key components of Rockingham Waterfront Village.

Design guidelines will encourage quality built form and encourage water and energy efficiency at Rockingham Waterfront Village.

The first stage of the development - completed in August 2005 - involved the transformation of the former Rockingham Oval into a Village Green featuring the stunning new war memorial, a play area for children, public seating, pathways and extensive public art including an impressive water-feature entry statement.

Current stages are creating a range of residential options and a community-orientated Village Square. The Village Square will complement the City of Rockingham’s new multi-function community centre.
