During the last 3 months the Gen Y innovation house really started to take shape with lock up achieved in late August and completion of most of the internal and external finishes.
In addition the Strata by laws and governance structure was commenced and a draft strata management plan was developed to ensure that the sustainability infrastructure can be efficiently managed and water and energy resources equitably distributed once the project is completed.
The external Colourbond cladding sponsored by Bluescope Steel and Stamit was installed during this period along with the required flashings and moldings.
Available in 22 attractive colours inspired by the colours of Australia, COLORBOND® steel wall cladding delivers a lot of practical benefits. It is easy to maintain, long lasting, lightweight and extremely durable; resisting chipping, flaking and blistering.
Manufactured in Australia to Australian Standards (AS1397 and AS/NZS 2728) and tested in some of the harshest Australian conditions over the last 50 years, genuine COLORBOND® steel is far more than just ‘paint on steel’.
The external fibre cement cladding sponsored by James Hardie was also installed on north facing elevations. A vertically grooved cladding panel that looks sharp and uniform. Pre-primed and easy to install, Scyon™ Axon™ cladding is a pristine look that lasts.
Scyon™ Axon™ cladding can be used in residential applications wherever a modern design is required, including external walls in composite construction, upper-storey and ground-level extensions, and internal feature walls. The advanced lightweight cement composite with heavy-duty performance is not only resistant to damage from termites, rot and fire*, but it can also be gun nailed and is easy to cut – like timber.
When Axon™ cladding is used with the right insulation and in accordance with the standard installation instructions, an R-Value of up to 2.8 can be achieved for the wall. Refer to the James Hardie’s Wall System Thermal Performance Total R-Values Technical Supplement for more information.
