• Works at urban regeneration development Cockburn Central West complete with estate now open to the public
  • Cockburn Central West is home to the $109 million Cockburn Aquatic & Recreation Centre (ARC), including new Fremantle Dockers training facility
  • Stage 1 of Cockburn Central West is 50 per cent sold, with developers expecting to break ground later this year

With the recent opening of the Cockburn Aquatic & Recreation Centre (ARC) developers are being urged to move quickly to secure one of the remaining lots at Stage One of LandCorp’s Cockburn Central West.

LandCorp chief executive Mr Frank Marra said the combination of the completion of the first stage of landscaping and civil works and the huge interest the ARC is generating in the area now is a great time for developers to consider the highly-anticipated new contemporary urban centre.

The mixed use lots range in size from 2,768sqm to 5,376sqm.

“Set to feature over 1,100 dwellings with a diverse mix of apartments, townhouses, shops, businesses and cafes will be situated around more than 4.8ha of public open space,” Mr Marra said.

“Cockburn Central West will ultimately be home to more than 2,000 people and will complement the adjoining Cockburn Central’s Town Centre development, providing further economic growth and job opportunities for the local community.”

Developed by LandCorp in partnership with the City of Cockburn and the WA Planning Commission, Cockburn Central West will demonstrate successful density living to accommodate the State’s growing population.

“With a range of affordable and contemporary apartments and a quick commute to the CBD, Cockburn Central West will offer an inner-city lifestyle".

“It is a great example of what can be achieved through the transformation of underutilised land into a connected, vibrant urban centre.”

Mr Marra said residents will also enjoy access to the state-of-the-art Cockburn ARC – a $109 million facility which is one of the newest and best of its kind anywhere in Australia

“City of Cockburn’s $109 million ARC – home to the Fremantle Dockers new training and administration facilities forms the centrepiece of Cockburn Central West.”

The centre features a 50-metre outdoor heated pool with water slides, a 25-metre indoor heated pool, six court multi-sport indoor stadium, a gym and a range of other community facilities.

Mr Marra said residents will also benefit from close proximity to existing facilities including the Gateway Shopping Centre, Cockburn Train Station and the adjoining Cockburn Town Centre.

With over 50 per cent of Stage 1 now sold developers are expected to commence early construction works in Spring 2017.
