Perth-based construction company Prada Developments has been contracted to build a state-of-the-art facility on one of the estate’s prominent lots.
The latest purchase leaves just 10 lots remaining in the first stage of the 400 hectares being jointly developed by LandCorp and the City of Wanneroo.
Situated within the 1,000 hectare Neerabup Industrial Area, Meridian Park will help meet the industrial land supply needs of metropolitan Perth’s fast growing north-west corridor for the next 20 years and will be a catalyst to create up to 20,000 new jobs.
Prada Developments Managing Director Michael Taddei said the announcement was further evidence of the area’s anticipated continuing economic growth and ongoing demand for quality, industrial land.
“Our client recognised Meridian Park as a prime location within the northern metropolitan area and is aiming to capture a substantial market within their industry, generated by population growth and the huge amount of industrial land coming on line,” Mr Taddei said.
“We have secured an excellent location on 5,765sqm for the facility which will include workshop and gantry cranes, warehouse and office space. Construction will start in August with completion scheduled for the end of the first quarter in 2013.”
The latest tenant will join Bunnings and Appliances Online at Meridian Park and other established businesses within the Neerabup Industrial Area, including Wesbeam, Boral, Archistone and BGC.
Meridian Park is located off Flynn Drive north of Wanneroo, approximately 32km north of the Perth CBD and 4km north east of Joondalup city centre. Stage 1 comprises lot sizes ranging from 2,469sqm to 23,297sqm suitable for a wide range of business types.
LandCorp Industrial Business Manager David Lewis said Meridian Park was vital to ensure sustainable economic development of the north metropolitan area, expected to house 418,000 people by 2031.
“Planning for the estate has included the development of a comprehensive Economic Development and Employment Generation Strategy, in conjunction with the City of Wanneroo, that also addresses wider regional issues such as jobs growth and employment self-sufficiency,” Mr Lewis said.
“At the same time, we have consulted widely to ensure Meridian Park sets a benchmark in smart and sustainable industrial design with a strong focus on high-quality built form, streetscapes and landscaping.”
