Gap Ridge proves ‘logical choice’ for Monadelphous in Pilbara

Leading Australian engineering company Monadelphous Group Limited has become one of the latest high-profile purchasers of land within LandCorp’s highly successful Gap Ridge Industrial Estate in Karratha.

The company has purchased a 6.9 hectare lot after announcing a series of major new and extended contracts for construction, maintenance, water and pipeline works with LNG and iron ore customers in the Pilbara region during the past financial year.

Monadelphous delivers complex and large-scale engineering construction projects and maintenance and industrial services for the resources, energy and infrastructure industries throughout Australia.

Monadelphous Managing Director Rob Velletri said the Pilbara was an important and growing area for the company and the quality industrial land at Gap Ridge was a logical choice as it outgrew its current Karratha facility.

“Maintaining a local base with major workshop and other facilities is vital to support the long term relationships we have with our blue chip customers,” Mr Velletri said.

“The new, bigger facility we have planned for Gap Ridge will help us continue to provide a high level of service to resources, energy and infrastructure operations in the region.”

LandCorp Business Manager Industrial David Lewis said the estate was proving to be popular with transport and support industries in the region.

“Around 30 companies have now signed up at Gap Ridge, evidence that we’re providing the right land, in the right place, at the right time,” he said.

“This is going to be one of the Pilbara region’s largest industrial developments, delivering a total of 260 hectares across 128 lots in eight stages.”

“Gap Ridge is the perfect place for businesses to expand or relocate, ideally situated close to the Karratha Airport and town centre and suitable for those who need larger lots.”

Stage 4 is the most recent land release at Gap Ridge, providing 10 lots ranging in size from 3,600sqm to 1.3ha fronting Dampier Highway.
