LandCorp’s forward thinking industrial estate Meridian Park in Neerabup is meeting growing demand driven by emerging housing developments in Perth’s northern corridor.

With the City of Wanneroo’s population of more than 150,000 people expanding rapidly, strategically located industrial estates like Meridian Park will be vital to supporting growth, according to LandCorp general manager industrial John Hackett.

“By 2031, Perth’s north west corridor is expected to house some 418,000 people, with the population in the City of Wanneroo alone forecast to grow to more than a quarter of a million in the next decade,” Mr Hackett said.

“The new Bunnings trade centre is the first business to open at Meridian Park and it is capitalising on this predicted growth and proving highly popular among tradespeople, builders and related businesses.”

Bunnings chief operating officer Peter Davis said that Bunnings is committed to ongoing investment and expansion in Western Australia.

“Our Neerabup Trade Centre at Meridian Park offers trade quality products and commercial quantities, delivery and pick up facilities, undercover loading and commercial pricing.”

“We are finding continued demand from trades and businesses servicing that sector and we have been very happy with the response to date from customers,” Mr Davis said.

Bunnings’ new 8,000sqm trade centre site comprises a 2,600sqm building with a large hardstand for trucks and storage for bulk product.

Meridian Park is a modern facility, offering services that are rapidly becoming expected in high-quality industrial parks such as high speed broadband, CCTV security, childcare, gyms and cafes as well as a high level of amenity.

Meridian Park comprises 1000 hectares of industrial land, approximately 400 hectares of which is to be developed jointly between LandCorp and the City of Wanneroo.

Land is available within Stage 1 of the development with lot sizes ranging from 2,400sqm to 23,000sqm to suit a wide range of industrial uses.

The next release comprising 10 lots is expected to be released to the industrial market in early 2012.
