The Pioneer Water Tank distribution and water carrying business with a customer base across the Peel Region becomes the latest company to open its doors at the estate, following in the footsteps of Murray Engineering, which successfully moved to the estate in 2010.
LandCorp’s Industrial Business Manager - David Lewis, said the estate was perfectly located for small businesses, suppliers and contractors seeking suitable industrial land with easy access to the Metro, Peel and South West regions.
“A number of businesses have chosen the estate for its affordable land prices and proximity to key industries and customers,” he said.
“For a company like Huckleberry’s Tank & Water Service with customers all over the region, the location of the estate, just minutes from the Perth-Bunbury Highway and South Western Highway is ideal.”
Huckleberry’s Tank and Water Service moved into its new premises in April, having previously operated from the backyard of Managing Director Keith Henneberry and partner Kay Reilly’s home.
For Mr Henneberry, the move was definitely a change for the better.
“Being located in a designated industrial area means fewer working restrictions – we can start earlier, finish later and do not need to worry about disturbing a residential community,” he said.
“The whole estate is configured to help us do our jobs more effectively - it is well laid out, the access is great and the new building meets the needs of our growing business.”
Mr Henneberry said drought conditions across many parts of Western Australia in recent years have made businesses and households more conscious of the need to conserve water.
“As a result we have seen a large rise in demand for water tanks, with some homes ordering second and third tanks to increase their storage capacity,” he said.
“It has challenged our business to work more efficiently while maintaining a high level of service to customers in the Peel region and further afield.
“Our new premises will help us to increase capacity and meet these exciting challenges.”
