Businesses seeking light industrial land in the Kimberley were recently given the opportunity to secure 23 quality light industrial lots at the new extension of the Blue Haze light industrial area in Broome.

LandCorp Regional Manager Hilary Woodley said the release had proven very popular with ten of the lots sold within the first week of release.

“It’s been some time since new light industrial land has become available in Broome, and to gauge demand for the land we recently conducted a survey of potential purchasers,” Ms Woodley said.

“The survey submissions indicated strong interest in the land and so we weren’t surprised when almost half of the lots were sold in the first week,” she said.

“And to continue to meet expected demand we have ensured that the approvals for the next stages are in place and we are ready to roll the land out as demand dictates in 2011.”

Selling agent Allan Griffiths from First National Real Estate Broome believes the estate’s location was a high draw card for purchasers.

“Blue Haze is located close to Broome Road and is only a five minute drive from the town centre,” he said.

“It’s an exciting time for businesses in Broome and Blue Haze is ideal for current businesses seeking to expand or new businesses looking to move to the area,” Mr Griffiths said.

Located off Gubinge Road, the Blue Haze light industrial area comprises fully serviced lots ranging from 1,500sqm to 3,300sqm offered for sale by private treaty.

To help meet the variety of industrial land needs in the area, LandCorp is also planning the Broome Road industrial area, just 10km north of Broome, to cater for general and transport industries.
