Connecting the City

At the heart of the CBD, directly fronting the Geraldton foreshore, is Lot 601. 

Uniquely positioned, Lot 601 is part of the CBD shopping precinct, with main street frontage onto both Marine Terrace (main shopping street) and Foreshore Drive with uninterrupted views of Champion Bay and the recently redeveloped foreshore.

This mixed use lot has been identified as a key development area for the overall BCM2 project that will integrate the urban core of Geraldton, providing a cohesive city centre link between the traditional CBD, the revitalised foreshore and Batavia Coast Marina.

Defined by built form comprising of by both heritage preservation and contemporary landmark developments, Lot 601 will establish itself as the pre-eminent tourism and shopping ‘hot-spot’ of Geraldton and the Mid West region.

Bound by Foreshore Drive on the west, Marine Terrace on the east and two public open spaces directly adjacent on the north and south, Lot 601 was previously part of the Public Transport Authority (PTA) Railway Marshalling Yards and is referred to as part of the “Durlacher Precinct.” The railway and marshalling yards are no longer active and the line was removed in 2006 however, remnants of the railway have been identified and enhanced as points of interest within the BCM2 development.

The 8,575sqm lot is zoned “Regional Centre” under the City of Greater Geraldton Local Planning Scheme No.1 and will present a significant development opportunity with potential for ground floor retail, hospitality, offices and upper floor apartments and tourism accomodation.
